Using and Caring for Your Pizza Stone:
Preparation:
1.Before your first use, gently rinse the pizza stone with water. Under no circumstances should you use soap or detergent, as they can an unpleasant odor when the stone is used later on.
Use a clean cloth to thoroughly dry the stone after rinsing.
Preheating:
2. Under no circumstances should you place a cold stone into a preheated oven, as it may cause the stone to crack. Preheat the oven to 500°F/260°C or to its maximum available temperature setting. Allow the oven to preheat with the stone inside for at least 30 minutes. This ensures the stone reaches the optimal temperature for baking.
Usage:
3. Once the oven and stone are adequately preheated, carefully slide the pizza onto the hot stone for even cooking. Bake for 5-10 minutes or until the pizza is light brown and cooked to your liking.
Between Pizzas:
4. If making multiple pizzas, it's recommended to reheat the stone between each pizza. Simply allow the stone to heat up again in the oven for 10-15 minutes before placing the next pizza.
Cleaning:
5. Once the stone has cooled completely to room temperature, use a special plastic scraper to remove any leftover residue from the surface of the stone.
If necessary, use a brush and water to gently clean the stone. Ensure the stone is completely dry before using it again to prevent cracking.
Self-Cleaning Function:
6. If your oven has a self-cleaning function, you can utilize it to clean the stone effectively.
**Warnings:
Avoid placing the hot stone directly onto a cold countertop as it may cause thermal shock and potentially lead to cracking.
Do not pour water onto the hot stone or attempt to clean it immediately after use.
Always ensure the pizza stone is adequately preheated before placing pizza on it to achieve the desired results.
Cleaning Warnings:
Do not use soap or detergent to clean the pizza stone as it is porous and may absorb liquids, potentially causing an unpleasant odor during future use.
Notice:
The structure of the stone is porous, and stains may remain even after cleaning. However, this will not affect the performance of the stone in any way.
Additionally, when using your pizza stone, it's essential not to sprinkle it with flour. It's crucial that the stone is adequately heated before placing the pizza on it.
For other types of baking, such as cookies, we recommend using parchment paper to prevent the dough from sticking to the stone.
